1. Warning
1) Patients who received quinolone antibiotics, such as levofloxacin, reported a tendon rupture such as shoulder, hand, or Achilles tendon which required surgical operation or prolonged the period of disability. In postmarketing surveys, this risk is higher in older adults or in combination with steroids. If the patient experiences pain, inflammation, or rupture of the tendon, administration of this drug should be discontinued. You should rest and refrain from exercising until you are clearly diagnosed as not having a tendonitis or tendon rupture. Tear rupture may occur during or after administration of this drug.
2) Quinolone antimicrobial agents have neuromuscular blocking action, which can lead to more severe symptoms in patients with severe workforce. Post-marketing surveillance has reported serious adverse reactions in patients with severe work-force taking quinolone antibiotics, including those requiring death and a respiratory aid. (See "3. PRECAUTIONS")
